Cecilia Maria Barthélemon (1767-1859) was an English singer, pianist, and composer born into a family of musicians. On her parents’ continental tour, she sang for the King of Naples and Marie Antoinette during the 1776-1777 season. She then performed at her mother’s 1778 benefit in London and continued to sing and play the piano in concert with her parents. Barthélemon was close friends with J.F. Haydn, to whom she dedicated her Op. 3 Keyboard Sonata. Her works include piano sonatas, some with violin accompaniment.
