Maria Hester Park (1760-1813) was an English composer, teacher, and keyboardist who gave numerous public concerts and taught music to noble families, including the Duchess of Devonshire. Park made her performing debut at the age of twenty-two, performing a harpsichord concerto in the Hanover Square concert series. As a composer, Park wrote several collections of piano sonatas as well as a concerto for keyboard and strings. Haydn was particularly impressed with her sonatas, commenting on their compositional strengths in a letter he wrote to Park. Park endured the challenges of poor health for many years.
