Anna Gardner Goodwin (1874-1959) was a Black American educator, pianist, and composer of sacred music and marches. She assisted her husband in playing and leading music at Morehouse College, where she also accompanied the school’s glee club. Her final composition, “Freedom to All March,” was written to commemorate the 1951 race riot in Cicero, Illinois.
